market + coral

Kwao, Emmanuel and I rose at four in the morning to make the hour and half long venture over the mountains into the city of Kingston. The markets were rich in colors, overflowing with fresh fruits, vegetables, grains, beans, spices and more. A heavy man in a box-truck of green coconuts sliced a hole with his machete for us to gulp down the juice then he split the coconuts for the meat to be scrapped out. There was a constant babble of voices and foot-steps and smiles. We packed the car and stopped at Juici Patties for vegetable patties and ice-cold water before heading back home.

Before sunset, I followed Melchizedek, Joshua and Lady to another breath-thieving coral point in the sea.
